POWER OF A PARENT'S BLESSING

POWER OF A PARENT'S BLESSING

Many people who are struggling with setbacks, hindrances, blockages and misfortunes are left in ignorance because they have not discovered the power of "Proclaiming A Blessing Over".

[No one can succeed or be prosperous without a blessing; whether saved or unsaved].

There’s tremendous power in a Dad’s blessing; therefore, in the Old Testament, it was a pleasure for fathers to bless their child or children.

They knew the power of a blessing; example-
Gen 48:8-9, "When Jacob saw Joseph's sons, he asked, "Who are these boys?. Joseph answered, These are my sons, whom God has given me here in Egypt. Jacob said, Bring them to me so that I may bless them."

I said Dad’s blessings because the blessing of the Generation is usually done by the father- Gen 49, Gen 27:29, Gen 31:55.

A blessing is an ability and empowerment to gain success  prosperity [physical and spiritual] in life. In a blessing, high value is attached to the person being blessed. Blessings help propel people into their destiny and immediately creates an opens gate where they can have a glimpse of favour for the future.

Many demons in our lives are there not because we sinned, but because of the curses placed over our lives through declarations, and proclamations and confessions etc.
In order to drive out certain demons from a person in order to change their disposition, we just have to lift our hands over the person and bless the person.

When you bless a person by proclaiming the blessings of the Lord, chains fall off from this person. It means, the Blessings will overthrow and dislodge the curses.

Here are two examples of the type of blessing that would be proclaimed over a person.
Gen 48:15-16, “Then he blessed Joseph: May God, whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac served, bless these boys!

May God, who has led me to this very day, bless them! May the angel, who has rescued me from all harm, bless them! May my name and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac live on through these boys! May they have many children, many descendants!”

Gen 24:60, “and they blessed Rebekah and said to her: “Our sister, may you become thousands of ten thousands, and may your seed possess the gate of those who hate him.”

When God wanted to establish Israel as a Nation, he led Aaron to proclaim the blessing of Numbers 6:24–27
(The Aaronic benediction)
“May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make His face shine upon you.
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you
and give you His peace.”

This is why God told Aaron to proclaim a blessing over the people. David said surely goodness and mercy shall follow me- he blessed himself.

But let us look at the power of blessings in the OT.
Abraham told his servant history - (Genesis 24:2) to put his hand under his thighs and make an oath, what does this mean? Why the hand under the thighs?

The King James Bible did not translate the verse to mean what it really mean,
