6 Things You Should Clean, But Probably Don’t

6 Things You Should Clean, But Probably Don’t

Reusable Grocery Bags

Many of us have gotten into the habit of taking our own bags when we do our shopping, but how many of us clean them after each trip? According to a study conducted by the University of Arizona and Loma Linda University, 97 percent of consumers never wash their bags. About 50 percent of the bags tested contained coliform (fecal) bacteria, and 12 percent contained E. coli. Especially since many people choose reusable bags to bring their lunch to work, to transport books or clothes, and for many other household uses, washing them after each use is the key to stopping contamination from vegetables or raw meat. Cloth bags can go directly into the washer and dryer, and recycled plastic bags can be wiped down with hot soapy water or treated with a disinfectant spray. Researchers also advise using each bag for only a single purpose—carrying raw meat, carrying vegetables, transporting laundry, or as a miscellaneous shopping tote.

Showerheads

Everyone loves a shower in the morning, but no one wants to get showered with bacteria. If you haven’t cleaned your showerhead recently, though, this is what may be happening. A study at the University of Colorado at Boulder found that 30 percent of showerheads tested positive for Mycobacterium avium, a germ that can cause lung infections, and for other various bacteria and fungi. Since some microbes may be resistant to chlorine, the best way to clean a showerhead is to soak it in a diluted vinegar solution and then scrub the deposits away with an old toothbrush. Plastic showerheads are more prone to bacterial buildup than metal ones, so people with compromised immune systems are advised to consider switching if necessary.

Computer Keyboards

A 2008 experiment by a researcher in England found that some computer keyboards harbor five times as many bacteria than the average toilet seat—bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), E. coli, and staph. The Centers for Disease Control blamed computer-equipment contamination for a 2007 norovirus outbreak that affected more than 100 people at a Washington, D.C., elementary school. Even private computers used at home aren’t immune to infection, considering that people are more likely to clean, take out trash, prepare food, handle pets, or use the bathroom without washing their hands when they’re at home. A good scrub after typing is the best way to avoid getting sick, but cleaning the keyboard is another good idea. First, eliminate dirt and crumbs using a vacuum cleaner or compressed-air canister, and then use a solution of diluted dishwashing detergent or isopropyl alcohol to swab down the keys with cotton balls or cotton swabs. (Make sure you disconnect the keyboard first.) While you’re at it, you might as well give the same treatment to your mouse, as well as your TV’s remote control.

Draperies

They may hang motionless, but drapes and curtains are a magnet for dust mites, pet hair, mold, dander, and debris of all kinds. If someone in your house suffers from indoor allergies, cleaning the curtains regularly can help reduce allergen buildup. Simple panel curtains can usually be washed and dried at home and then steamed to release wrinkles. There are certain types of draperies you should take to a dry cleaner or other cleaning professional, including lace curtains, designs with embroidery or appliqué, those with pleats or complicated fabric construction, and draperies that are too big to fit into your washing machine. In between washings, experts recommend vacuuming curtains with a hose and brush attachment at least once a month to prevent debris from building up.

Trash Cans

Considering that the kitchen is usually the dirtiest spot in any house—even dirtier than the bathroom—it’s no surprise that trash cans can become laden with germs. Even if you take out the trash regularly (which I sincerely hope you do), the can itself is still coming into contact with dirt, dust, old food, raw meat, decomposing vegetables, moldy leftovers, kitty litter, and whatever else we deem to be too old, too gross, or too disgusting to keep in the house. Clean the trash cans at least twice a month to prevent the spread of germs like E. coli, salmonella, trichinosis, and simple cold and flu bugs. Small pails can go into the dishwasher; wash large cans with hot water and a mild bleach solution or with a product designed for pet messes, which contain enzymes to break down bacteria. A hose works best, but apartment-dwellers can clean a large trash can in the shower. (Just remember to rinse out the tub afterward.)

Doormats
Researchers at the University of Arizona found that about 96 percent of shoes carry traces of fecal bacteria on the soles. If you think about the legions of feet that have crossed your threshold, you might decide that it’s time to give the welcome mat a welcome washing. Vacuum mats with fabric tops before washing to remove dust and loose dirt; you can wash rubber-backed mats in the washing machine. The easiest way to clean any doormat is to spray it down with a garden hose or use the pressure washer at a car wash, using a small amount of soap or detergent. Allow the mat to air-dry completely before putting it back into service.
No matter how vigilant we are, we can never create a completely sterile environment. It’s normal to come into contact with some germs and bacteria—they help us digest our food, keep our immune systems on alert, and provide a whole host of beneficial services. We can’t eradicate every single microbe that crosses our paths, but given the choice between living with more or fewer bacteria, you don’t have to be a clean freak to know which to pick.

Ketuanan Siam

Ketuanan Siam

By John Doe

It hurts, when "fresh news" is exposed in the face of a government hell-bent on creating a delusional History of itself, under the guise of "Nation-Building". Let us start with Museum Negara, and the person who built it. Tunku Abdul Rahman, more affectionately called TAR was of Thai Origins. He went to school in Bangkok (ask any Tuk-tuk driver to take you) not too far from Hualamphong Train Station. In fact, most Thais are so proud that "one-of-their-own" was able to become the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Being of Thai origin, he obviously used "symbols" of Thai unity to decorate Museum Negara. The 2 "X" decoratives flanking the roof of Museum Negara, thus, is a direct import of the symbol of Thai Unity. This is especially true in the north, around the Chiang Mai region. In fact, the Museum of Chiang Mai is decorated EXACTLY the same way. Hundreds of billboards in the north also have the "X" on it, to symbolize and remind Thais of this unity. Perhaps this is Tungku's succinct message to Malaysia?

And dear readers, please compare it with this:

One is of The Chiang Mai Museum, and the other is of Muzium Negara. The resemblance is stark. On the same note, all houses in the north of Thailand are identical to any "Malay House" on the Peninsular. Ever wondered why Tom Yum is such a favourite dish among the "Malays"?

Historically speaking, all of the Peninsular used to belong to Thailand anyway. It was controlled via Pattani, under Ayudthia. If "Sejarah Melayu" (Originally called Asal-Usul Raja-Raja) can be taken as truth, then it talks about how Parameswara murdered the village Chief of Temasik (Singapore), who was the Brother-in-Law of the Pattani King. Ayudthia then ordered his (Parameswara's) execution. He then ran away, and went to "Old Malacca" situated in Muar. Parameswara ran again when he was busy pirating ships which travelled along the Straits. This time, it was the Achenese who issued his (Parameswara's) execution.

The name Parameswara itself is of great interest. Many Posthumous-Names of Angkorian Kings carried the name "Parameswara" in it. Usually, it was spelt "Paramesvara" and a suffix, depending on which God he prayed to. You see, all Kings had a Birthname, then, a Coronation Name, and then, a Posthumous Name. For example, King Bhumipol, and Rama IX, the current names of the present King of Thailand. So, for Parameswara to choose a name which is already a "dead name" was an attempt to "Supercede" the living. After all, all kings were changed from Dharma Raja to Deva Raja, to symbolize their Ancestry of Gods. The God-King concept was thus accepted by simple agrarian folk as truly GOD, and thus made Tax-collection easier. It also meant total submission whenever soldiers were required to fight the neighbours; since who can argue against GOD?

And whenever GOD wanted a new wife, or concubine, it was dramatically easier to acquire a nubile of choice. Who doesn't want to have sex with GOD himself, and bear GOD children? The King of the Champa had 4 wives, even though he was a Hindu. Same for Jayavarman VII, even though he was a Buddhist. Both had uncountable concubines, all sent by willing and needy Villagers, in exchange for "special requests". There is no other logical justification of the concept of Kingship anyway, if the God-King concept is removed.

Back to the Thais, the DevaRaja, or the God-King concept, was the central theme to keeping the peasants under their control. The word"central" in the Thai Language is Klang. And no prizes for guessing where the name for the Malaysian Port-Town originated from. You will find tens of villages and townships in Thailand named Ban Klang. Ban, (or sometimes spelt Bann) simply means Village. It's thus no surprise, that "Central Hospital" in Bangkok is called "Klang Hospital". Klang Valley, thus, could be translated as Central Valley in Malaysia. Central to where? Between Bangkok, and Jakarta, or Central between Pattani, and Majapahit? Any decent map will show this almost equi-distance readily.

Many Kelantanese will claim that they are descedants of the mighty Champa Kingdom in central Vietnam. However, their King is from the Pattani "Royal Line". Ironic, but painfully true. (I refuse to comment about their internal family feud, or Manohara.) In fact, many of those killing and bombing innocent humans in the Yala, and Narithiwat Province just across the Border, have relatives in Kelantan. Crossing the Golok (known as Kolok in Thai) is a mere RM2, or 20Baht, no questions asked. Most in the South of Thailand will tell you that these Terrorists cross over to Malaysia whenever the Military organizes a sweep. Even more will tell you that they also hold dual-citizenships in both Thailand, as well as Malaysia. Isn't dual-Citizenships illegal in Malaysia? Are they brought in to vote to UMNO, so as to provide them with continued access to Malaysia whenever they risk arrest?

Many Kelantanese are also known to have illegitimate wives and children across the border. Same goes for Perlis. In fact, official Perlis Tourism Brochures announce that any Muslim may go there if they want to register their second, third, or fourth wives WITHOUT theconsent of the first wife. Musliim women, please take note of this. You may be sharing your "Darling Husband" with a few other women in Perlis, or across the Border. Do what you have to do.

To address Riduan Tee, he should be the first to board the boat to China, to set an example. He could, of course, also board the boat to Arab countries unless he thinks that Adam and Eve are Malay. Perhaps he is so obsessed with this particular Branch of an Arabic Religion. (There's many other Arabic Religions, both past and present, which includes Zorastarianism, and Hinduism, which were both started by the Iranians (read as Indo Aryans) The Iranians brought the 3 original Vedas, and Sanskrit to Mohenjodaro, and Harrappa in the Indus Valley. The Mahabarratta, and the Ramayana were to be written at least 2,000 years later by Dravidic Indians. Hinduism, on the other hand, had already existed in Iran, 8,000 years ago.) And he can start, by telling the Shi'ites that they are wrong. Stop hiding under the skirt of Islam. Using religion to further one's own Agenda is no different from Suicide Bombers, of whom we haven't heard a whimper spoken out by Malaysia  against such despicable acts ever.

Perhaps CIMB-Thailand on Sukhumvit Road next to the SIAM BTS station, was burnt beyond recognition by the Thais recently, was a clear message to Najib to wank his Ketuanan elsewhere? It is also interesting to note, that the 4 northern states of Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu were given to Thailand during WWll, and these states had to fly both the Thai flag, as well as the Japanese flag. They rejoined Malaya only when the British returned in 1945 after the war.

Speaking of BTS, have you seen their logo, and how Hong Leong kindly copied it wholesale, with impunity?

The above is the logo of the Thai Skytrain. Not one of a Bank in Malaysia.

And speaking of copying logos, the "Timbang" Logo of BNis seen in pretty much every street corner in Thailand, but instead of the blue background, is green. See below:

No prizes for guessing who copied who. No wonder the Thai's are so proud of Tunku !! He brought Thailand to Malaysia !!

Back to Riduan Tee, why not try using Pakistan as your "Ideal Muslim Country" as reference. No? Wanna talk about how the Talibans carved the 1st Buddha Statue in the world  ever?

It was over 150feet tall, and was until recently bombed by the Taliban (watch The National Geographic Special on this). Or do you not know? If you don't, then perhaps you should "Shaddap", and leave the talking to us who do. Final parting words, "Why didn't anyone arrest Riduan Tee for creating inter-racial dissent?"

How a Husband Should Love His Wife & How a Wife Should Love Her Husband

How a Husband Should Love His Wife & How a Wife Should Love Her Husband

  1. Let's think of love not as a word but an action. Instead of saying "I love you." Show you wife that you love her. Be more loving! How can a man show his woman he loves her? By doing!
  2. Forget about the box of chocolates and flowers. Any man can go buy these things. But any man cannot show love to his wife on a whim. The chocolates get eaten and make your wife fat and cranky; the flowers wither and die in three days. What about showing your love by doing things that you know your wife will enjoy?
  3. ~How Should A Husband Love His Wife~
  4. When was the last time you wined and dined your wife? What about a mini-vacation? Are you the romantic type? If not find out how you can amaze your wife by being a romantic guy. What would that involve?
  5. A woman likes a man who can cook. How about cooking her an intimate candlelit dinner for two? Don't know how to cook? Get a cookbook and do it anyway. Have some fun in the kitchen and enjoy yourself.
  6. Don't forget, you wife likes to be touched and hugged without the pressure of sex looming in the near future. Sometimes the hugging and coddling is more important to her than the actual sex act. Not that she doesn't like to orgasm but that she wants to KNOW that you love her more than the sex act itself. Hug her and cuddle her and you'll most likely get what you want later.
  7. The most important way to show your love is through your acceptance and validation. Are you the kind of guy that discounts his wife's choices, desires, and needs through invalidation? This kind of behavior will cause all kinds of trouble in the marriage. Let me tell you why.
  8. By invalidating your wife in whatever manner, you have essentially rejected her. She will feel as if her opinions, decisions, and beliefs don't count and shouldn't be regarded with importance. She will hold this within her consciousness and it will come back to haunt you later on in the marriage. This won't be on purpose but mostly because you have hurt her. She loves you and when you invalidate her feelings, thoughts, actions, beliefs, views, and opinions, she gets hurt!
  9. Let me tell you a big secret about woman, which also includes your wife. Your wife may ask you for your opinion on something because it is in her nature to get a second opinion but that does not necessarily mean that she will go with your opinion or your opposing viewpoint.
  10. I'm not talking about the submission thing here either. What I'm talking about is just everyday thoughts and actions of your wife. If for some reason you really feel that it is best that you disagree with her thoughts and feelings, do so AFTER you have said something positive about the way she thinks and feels. Be understanding! If you actually validate her she will see it your way on her own, even if she won't admit it.
  11. Your wife may also like to vent her feelings more then you, not because she needs for you to find a solution so much as just being a sounding board. Give her validation in what she has to say, and then ask her if she is looking for an opinion and or solution first before giving her one. This doesn't make much sense to you, but to us women it makes a lot of sense.
  12. ~How A Wife Should Love Her Husband~
  13. It is my firm belief that it is easier to make a man happy than for a man to make a woman happy. I believe this because men really don't ask for much. If they can camp out on the hard ground with the ants and other bugs how hard can they be to please? Yes, I know this sounds superficial but think about this for a moment. Have you noticed how much happier, and less stressed out your man is when he has his two most important needs met, sex and food?
  14. It is also semi-true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. They love to eat and they love to eat good tasty meals. When their stomachs are full, and they have been taken care of physically, a man doesn't ask for much else.
  15. Don't forget, the home is a man's castle. Knowing this, make every effort to keep his castle tidy and free of stressful situations that could upset his equilibrium. He has worked all day long and wants to come home to a loving and sweet wife, not a grouch and a TV dinner
  16. Be appreciative of every little thing your man does around the house. Make your man feel like a man by being a woman. Give him a hug and a kiss where it counts, talk about your day together. Don't reject your husband sexually. Make him feel good about himself by telling him so. Respect him for who he is and what he does!
  17. Basically, a woman needs validated and intimacy, and a man needs sex and good food. Find ways in which you can give of your self in the marriage by being more loving in these areas.
  18. And men, after you have shown your wife how much you love her, then you can buy her the chocolates and flowers.
  19. Angie Lewis has written five books on how to have a happy marriage. In her books she offers marriage tips, tools, techniques, and wisdom filled answers for you to apply in your marriage. From issues such as adultery, addiction, pornography, emotions, beliefs, forgiveness, communication and submission - it's all here!
  20. Angie's latest book ADULTERY PANDEMIC is about the prevalence of infidelity among the Christian community and what you can do to protect yourself and marriage. If you or your spouse have been unfaithful, this book will give you the spiritual insight and wisdom to overcome this devastating battle to heal yourself and restore your marriage.

VANITY OF VANITIES: EGO IS LIKE A VAPOR BUT ONE THAT CAN TRANSMIT PRINCE OF THE POWER OF AIR

VANITY OF VANITIES: EGO IS LIKE A VAPOR BUT ONE THAT CAN TRANSMIT PRINCE OF THE POWER OF AIR
Did you know that when negativity has collected around a person, that evil can be transmitted? Perhaps we could say "telegraphed": spirits around one person can affect another. If something is plaguing you, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in shutting off any source it may be coming from (without letting your imagination run wild). You may have a weak point allowing entry.
The most powerful way evil accumulates around a sender is through atheism, hatred, or vanity.
Let's focus on the last -- which is a category of pride.
Few things are more potent than vanity, and few things are such a waste of time.
The word "vanity" comes from the Hebrew word for "vapor."
This is very important. It tells us that arrogance -- self-conceit --  (like vapor) does not last.
To be puffed up is to be full of nothing.
Vanity leads to jealousy, and jealousy is one of the most common and powerful ways that spirits are telegraphed. Jealousy is a curse, and a curse is marshalling darkness (usually unwittingly) to affect another.
To have vanity is to be vain and to be vain is to have ego which means pride which means a focus on one's own "stature." It is to focus on the self. It is to orient one's life to serve an appearance. Remember that painting of a skull in a vanity mirror?
It is to serve worldliness.
What is worldliness? It is tabulating stature on the basis of physical objects and societal standing.
As even the Blessed Mother reputedly said, "What does God desire of you? Do not permit Satan to open the paths of earthly happiness, the paths without my Son. My children, they are false and last a short while."
The devil once appeared to this seer as an incredibly handsome man who offered the visionary "success in life and love" if she would follow him. If she followed the Blessed Mother, said the devil, she would only suffer. In another case, a man who had a near-death experience and "glimpsed" hell said he saw a large red eye that showed him earthly temptations and an end to pain and anguish -- if, like the seer, he would follow him. "Visions of wealth appeared before my eyes, like a three-dimensional movie," said this man, Don Brubaker. "Diamonds, money, cars, gold, beautiful women, everything."
Those are loaded words: the paths of earthly happiness, instead of the Path of Heaven. What Mary is saying is that when we are doing what the devil wants, the devil can anoint us -- "bless" us with glamour, money, and worldly possessions. Did he not offer the kingdoms of the world to Jesus?
Many are those who consider rich or famous or powerful people to be blessed -- but by which force? And how have they used their riches?
To be worldly is to chase the wind because no matter what we collect in life, it vanishes like vapor at the end of life. Here we get back again to "vanity"!
It is also one of the greatest evils of our time -- this era of reality shows and fifteen minutes of fame and an obsession with looks (to the point of surgically altering how God made us).
"I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind," says Ecclesiastes 1:14
"Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than breath," adds Psalm 62:9.
Let's go back to the origin of the word.
Vanity, say etymology books, is "emptiness, foolish pride." It is "banal or excessive sentimentalism." It is "air in motion" -- often, hot air. There is even "vain sorrow."
The prince of the power of the air is Satan and he collects around those who are vain -- who have pride. They channel dark forces like conduits -- we channel dark forces, when we let pride control our thoughts.
It is from vanity that jealousy comes, and jealousy -- says Proverbs -- is even more powerful that wrath.
When a person has collected dark forces around himself and is jealous, those forces can be "telegraphed" to the target of the jealousy, and here we have a severe demonic attack ("who can stand in the face of jealousy").
Vanity and jealousy go hand in hand and argue against love; they are the opposite; no one with a big ego is a big lover; no one with much vanity has a huge heart. It is only delusion to think so -- and in this time of vanity -- in the Age of Ego -- it is crucial that we root out every manifestation of it.
Even in religion, those who feature themselves as holy develop a vanity that turns into a judgmental mindset that then devolves into criticality and a mean spirit that makes a mockery of Christ.
Vanity of vanities, says Ecclesiastes. "All is vanity" -- all that makes for evil here and causes the soul to head for darkness after.

Enoki Mushroom Prevents Cancer

Enoki Mushroom Prevents Cancer
Also known as:
Velvet Shank Mushrooms

Golden-needle-mushroom (Jin-Gen-Goo) successfully kills 95% of cancer cells ( Taiwan Report)
(Hokkien KIM CHIAM KOR)
Research done by Singapore U shows that eating this mushroom can destroy 95% of cancer cells in our body by boosting our immune system.
Professor Phan Hwai Chong of Yang Ming Research Centre in Taiwan told reporter that consuming this kind of mushroom, one of the ingredients in the mushroom can trigger the multiplication of our healthy 'defensive' cells. By out-numbering the cancers cells, healthy cells help eradicate cancer cells.
American scientists have since run tests on this particular type of mushroom extract with blood, done outside human body. Results show that mushroom extract is able to destroy cancer cells.
According to Taiwan professor, since healthy 'fighting' cells can be multiplied to tens & thousands of times, it can either be used as drip or just by eating mushroom.
The mushroom is most frequently taken with steam boat.
Cooking time should be less than 3 minutes, or the healing property would greatly diminish.
Normal eating for Health:-

Preparation, uses, and tips

Before using enoki mushrooms, rinse them thoroughly and trim off the roots at the base of the cluster. Enoki mushrooms can be eaten raw or cooked.. Add them to salads, sandwiches, soups, pasta sauces, and stir-fried rice and vegetable dishes. To retain the delicate flavor of the mushrooms, add them at the end of the cooking process.
Buying and storing tips

When purchasing fresh enoki mushrooms, select mushrooms with firm, white, shiny caps. Avoid purchasing enoki mushrooms with slimy or brownish stalks. Enoki mushrooms keep up to 14 days in the refrigerator if stored in a paper bag.
(you should try storing veggies or fruits in those aluminum foil bags that you throw away if you do buy Milo or quaker oats in packages type; it seems they can keep them longer and fresher; test to confirm??? Keep one end open and not seal it tight.)
Varieties
Most commercially available enoki mushrooms are the pale white cultivated variety.
